Clergy are self-selected. If you believe you are Pagan clergy, you belong here. No one will check your credentials at the door. Our quarterly meetings are open to all Pagan clergy, and are held at various locations around the state. Meetings are held in a cast circle, so that those who wish to gain counsel from other clergy on sensitive matters may do so in an atmosphere of confidentiality. (Because sensitive subjects can come up at meetings, we ask that no one under 18 attend without a parent.) Check out our Calendar page for a listing of upcoming MPCA meetings. We became a registered Maine nonprofit corporation in November 2001. Since then, we have worked on a variety of projects, including establishing an avenue for interested Pagan clergy to obtain legal licensure. (See Licensure for application and criteria.) Other projects include compiling a list of Pagan-friendly counseling resources in the state; compiling information on marriage laws in Maine, including sample ceremonies; and others as we perceive needs in our communities and find energy and ideas for meeting them. We welcome YOUR energy and ideas! If you can't join us at a meeting, please join us online! The Maine Pagan Clergy list does not operate under the same guarantee of confidentiality that our in-person meetings do, but we do offer a forum for asking questions, sharing information and setting up projects. To join, send a blank e-mail to mainepaganclergy-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. |
