Recognition
Please be sure to read the Licensuring,

and the FAQ About MPCA Recognition and
Licensure pages
before proceeding.
Requirements and Procedures to Request
Recognition
Please
note that the applicant is responsible for providing ALL information,
and that no action will be taken until all documents are received. To
check status of your application at any time, please contact licensure@mainepaganclergy.org.
Please supply an original, not a copy, of the following:
- a completed Recognition application.
- the results of a criminal background check, within the past year
prior to application, for the State of Maine. According to the state
police, background checks may be obtained from:

Letter must include person's full name, date of
birth, any previous names the person has used, include a stamped,
return-addressed envelope, and check or money order for $25 made out
to
"Treasurer - State of Maine". A form may be found at: http://www.faleslaw.com/criminal.htm
- a notarized statement affirming that the applicant is a resident
of Maine, that the information furnished is true and offered voluntarily
to MPCA and may be distributed at their discretion. Example of a notarized
statement:
I, [Name], also known as [Name] of [Address, City, State,
Zip Code] that I am a resident of [City, State]. I confirm that
the background check and other materials submitted with this application
are true and that I voluntarily apply to the MPCA Recognition.
The MPCA may, at their discretion, make available the materials
submitted to interested parties.

Renewing Recognition Status
This status is renewable yearly at Samhain MPCA Quarterly Meeting
with request that includes:
- A notarized statement attested by the applicant that affirms they
continue to meet all requirements set by the Board of the MPCA for maintaining
their current status.
- A specific statement of at least 6 clock hours
community service, including, but not limited to, open ritual, teaching,
writing, involvement with other Pagan groups, or serving on committees
or boards for Pagan groups.
- A specific statement of at least 12 clock
hours of continuing education, including, but not limited to, classes,
reading, research or supervision.
- Payment of a $5.00 fee to the MPCA
for processing.
